Dewatering

Intensification and stabilization of vacuum filters for the drainage of mineral concentrate may be effective when chemicals are used.

Surfactants are used to modify the surface of particles filtered so that in a step of stacking, a thick cake is formed in the drying stage: Effectively removing the water.

The economic benefit of introducing a filter aid includes the following:

  • Reduced electricity consumption
  • Reduction of maintenance costs
  • Reduced consumption of filter cloth
  • Reduced transport costs associated with the decrease in humidity

Environmental requirements:

  • It is insoluble in water, almost completely adsorbed on the surface of the solid phase.
  • It does not produce fumes
  • It has no odor and does not foam.
  • It biodegrades rapidly in water.
  • Safe for transport and storage.
